This year Sean had to run a booth for his company so I took Taylee and Brynlee to the fair while my wonderful sister and mom watched Paxton. And I was shocked when I realized that I had a blast! Taylee and Bryns had so much fun with everything and their laughter and smiled were contagious. The best part was that Sean was able to sneak away from work for an hour to come with us to the rides.
Walking down the main walkway toward the rides we stopped and let the girls pick out face-paint. I was a bit nervous because the lady was a little bit creepy but she did a great job and was quick (which is really good with a 2 year old!).

Brynlee got a butterfly with lots of sparkles

Taylee picked out a flower with sparkles

Here is my sexy husband with my two cuties! (Sean gets SOO sick on any rides that go in circles. I was very impressed that he made it on the carousel)

Had to get these pictures of the girls fishing in the duck pond game...it might be the only time they get to go fishing :-)
Here is Taylee fishing all by herself. She actually won a stuffed snake while Brynlee won a plastic sword. Bryns was so sad when she didn't get a snake that the nice man switched it even though she hadn't gotten enough points. It was so nice!
Taylee and Brynlee on the rides. This is one of the only rides that Brynlee was big enough to go on. I ended up playing a bunch of the games with her while Taylee rode the bigger rides. Unfortunately :-) another carnie worker took pity on her and gave her four goldfish when she only won one. She was so happy amd no longer felt bad about not going on the rides (by the way one of the fishes is already dead. Yuck!). I even went on the swings with Taylee. It was SOO much fun. I forgot how much I like fair rides. And since Sean can't do the circle rides I will always get to go on them with the kids :-)...though I do have to admit that even though it was a lot of fun, about 3/4 of the way through I was thinking "ok, isn't this done yet." After the rides, Sean had to get back to work so I took the two girls over to see Mckee's Petting Zoo. Brynlee loved all the goats and she kept trying to hug them. But when the goats realized that she was out of food for them they took off.
We also went to Ag Adventure Land which was highly recommended by my sister. Both of the girls had a lot of fun. There were very few people when we went so it was nice and quiet and the girls got to spend as much time as they wanted at each of the stations.
Milking a fake cow
Taylee pretending to be a cowgirl. She actually was doing very well at roping the metal cow. Grandpa Gneiting would be proud.
We stopped and got rootbeer floats after Ag Land and then the girls wanted to go on these horse rides by McKees. So, here's a shot of Brynlee being a cowgirl.
So, yes, the fair was a lot of fun. There is something about taking your own children to things that brings out the kid in you and I will definitely be ready to go next year!

That looks like fun. I will have bring Aubree next year. I didn't realize that Taylee and Brynlee were such cowgirls!!!
We go every year!! We drag Thad along. lol The food is so yummy and the kids always have a ton of fun. It's a tradition. Glad you guys had fun!
Brooke that is so great. It sounds like you had a great time. I am glad you were able to go. It looks like the girls loved every part of it.
I know what you mean about it bringing out the kid in you. I went with Wyatt and Kamber and even I got to feed the goats lol.
I 100% agree that our kids bring out the kids in us. It's fun seeing pure joy and happiness on our kids faces. I'm glad you guys had so much fun. We will have to try out the rides next year, it looks like the girls had a blast :) I'll even ride the swings with you!!!
What a great time you guys had! I love that Bryns is already workin' it and getting freebies with her cuteness!
I loved the fair as a kid and I have loved going back with our kids! What great memories!
You are a better mother then I am. We took Lexi this year and just made her stay in her stroller. We did go see all of the animals. Which she loved doing.
How fun! Our kids loved the fair, although I don't think they even know about the rides yet. :) Scott's not a huge fair lover, but he's a good sport to go so that the kids can have some fun. My favorite thing is to people watch...there's always lots of interesting people there.
I am so glad that you guys had fun. I know what you mean though. The fair kind of lost it's appeal to me as well. Maybe when Justus is a little bit bigger, I'll have to go and experience it again. :) Glad things are going well for you.
