Boys....

When Paxton takes a bath he makes a mess. It literally feels and looks like the bathroom and mommy got hit with a hurricane and then dunked under a waterfall. This morning it was worse than usual. I got him out of the bath and thought, "I will take just a minute to clean some of this water and soap up.

Bad idea.

After my minute of cleaning I followed the sound of his laughter to his bedroom. With a huge grin on his face he was holding his "unit" and urinating on one of his stuffed dinosaurs.

I truly did not know what to say. My jaw dropped and I just stared at him. He got done and said, "Look Mommy! Look Mommy" And then pointing at the dinosaur, he said, "Yucky."

Oh, some days...

Christmas 2010

We spent Christmas in our house in Idaho Falls. We spent Thanksgiving in Utah by ourselves and...well, it was boring. So we decided to spend Christmas with family in Idaho. It was interesting to sleep in sleeping bags, and to cook without my normal kitchen items, but we had a great time.
We celebrated my Grandpa Gneiting's 80th birthday, hosted a BSU party, and then spent Christmas Eve with Sean's parents and family.

The kids walking into the living room

The girls were so excited about their presents. They each got one big gift from Santa. Taylee received "BigFoot". He is such a funny toy! Why didn't they have such cool stuff when I was a kid?? And Brynlee received a PUPPY that she can walk! I know, what a shocker :-) Brynlee is just a bit puppy-crazy.

Me and my buddy, Pax

We had a great Christmas spent with family and friends. And did I mention that we had 2 ear infections and 3 broken bones while in Idaho? Paxton was one bone and both ear infections and Sean was the other 2 bones. My poor hubby played basketball a couple of morning with our old ward. His hand got swatted at and somehow he completely shattered the end bone of his right ring finger and had a hammer-fracture on the middle bone. I truly do not know how he got injured so badly by a hand swat, but it is definitely one of his talents. lol! He is super competitive and can never play half-way. Oh, Pax had a simple hairline fracture on his foot from a stumble down a couple stairs...we're really not sure how his foot was fractured from it. He is like his daddy---very gifted in being injured in the craziest ways :-)

Taylee's Christmas Program

Taylee had her first Christmas program in December. Can you believe how tall she is???

Temple Square

Before Christmas we took our family to Temple Square to see the Christmas light. It took forever to get there, forever to find a parking space, it was freezing cold, and it was compeltely worth it!

The lights were beautiful. My children laughed and giggled. Taylee loved the the red lights. Brynlee loved the pink.

And of course, the highlight of the trip to Temple Square was climbing to the top of the Visitors Center. When my children saw the Christus statue they just stared in awe. I love how simple and pure their testimonies are. I was getting frustrated about some of the people who were so inconsiderate, pushing around us, climbing on things they shoudln't, parents ignoring their rowdy children. But my kids didn't even pay attention to the chaos around us. They simple smiled at the statue of Jesus and told their mommy how much Jesus loves all of us. I love having children. They are constantly teaching me about life.

Finding Ancestors

My parents and grandparents love family history. Through their work and testimonies I have always known that when doing family history work their is always heavenly help, but I have never been a witness to it.
My parents came to visit us shortly after we moved to Lehi. While they were here, we decided to take a drive to the old cemetery. My great-great grandfather was buried there, but no one had ever been able too find him.
We drove through the cemetery (and it was a huge cemetery) and decided to walk through the older part. My dad took off one way, Taylee and I another, and my mom and Bryns yet another way. Well, Bryns got cold and tired quickly. My mom being the wonderful grandmother that she is, took her back to the car to warm her up. She then decided to follow the rest of us in the car in case we got cold.
Suddenly we heard my mom frantically honking the horn. Anyone who knows the reverence that my mom has for cemeteries knows that for her to be making such a loud noise meant that an emergency had occured. We raced back to the car to find that right next to the road there was a stone with the name "John Peterson." My great-great grandfather.

If we would have continued walking in the older section, we never would have found the stone. But thanks to the "coincidence" (you may say) of a cold little girl, a loving grandmother, and a cold day, the stone was found.
Thanks mom and dad for letting us be apart of the adventure!

Harvest

Every year I take my kids out to ride the combine with my dad during harvest. It was something that I always loved to do as a child. My dad teaches them so much about harvest and where their favorite foods come from. He is an amazing grandfather!

We also went to see my grandfather's horses. My kids LOVE horses.
