Look at my little girl!
I told Taylee that she could get earrings when she was five. But she said no.
I told her that she could get them when she was six. But she said no. She said she was going to wait til she was thirty.
And then, yesterday, out of nowhere, we visit Claire's at the mall to get hairclips. We check out and my little gal says, "Mommy, I want to get my ears pierced today."
I tried to talk her out of it. She had school in an hour, I wasn't sure if Sean would approve, and, well...Taylee is a big WUSS! (is that how you spell it?) If you read this later, honey, I'm really sorry! But its true.
But Taylee persisted in wanting her ears pierced. She almost broke into tears when I said no.
And then the Claire's lady went into sales-mode. They DID have 2 people working so they could do both ears at once. The weekend was ALWAYS super busy. And it is ALWAYS better to do it according to the child's wants instead of the parents.
Crossing my fingers for the best, I said, "OK."
About three minutes later, and absolutely no tears, we walked out of the store with two new holes in my daughter's ears. She held my hand and didn't even flinch when it was done. In fact, I even had to ask, "Is that it?"
So proud of my little girl. I can't believe how fast she is growing up! And
I will no longer say she is a "Wuss." She completely proved me wrong :-)
And as a side note, she told me last night that she is almost like a mom now. She can whistle and has her ears pierced. I guess those are two BIG requirements to being a mom!
Gotta love it!
