Slave Labor

Taylee wants/needs a 'big' bike. Brynlee wants a scooter. I am such a mean mommy and I am making them earn 'kid bucks' in order to buy them (Thanks for the idea Noelle!!). They get 1 Kid Buck a day for doing their normal chores. And they can earn more by doing extra chores or by good behavior. Taylee has to earn 100 Kid Bucks to get a bike. With all the yard work and spring cleaning that we have been doing at our house and at Grandma's, she has been raking in the cash. Literally :-)

(She is over halfway to her Kid Buck goal! Good Job Taylee!!

I know when Brynlee has worked hard because she passes out on the couch at 2 in the afternoon.

I totally agree with having kids earn things. I think it's good for them, and at their age chores are usually fun anyway! We're excited for the soccer game on Friday...it should be fun! However, we are not excited that we aren't in the same ward anymore! It's sad!

It is a good idea for kids to work for things. They appreciate it more. Keep up the good work Taylee and Brynlee!!!

Looks like you have been very busy. I think this is a great idea for having them take a little responsibility and then hopefully in the end treating their stuff better because they "paid" for it.

I love the kid bucks idea too. I am definitely using that when my kids get a little older. What cute kids you have. They look like hard little workers!

Slave labor....isn't that the whole point of having kids... LOL! I think it's a great idea to teach kids to work, I will also be copying the "Kid's Cash" idea in the future :)
