Our washing machine broke on Sunday. It leaked though the floor and into the theater room. Luckily, it did not effect any of the electrical work, just the paint (I guess not so lucky for my hubby who has to repaint it :-). Sean was so upset that Monday morning he left early to work and bought us a new washer and dryer.
I love them! They are front-loading (did you know that you have to have special laundry detergent for front loading machines???) and they are huge! They stand at least a foot taller than my last ones. But the best thing is that they have digital timers and the washing machine takes 50 minutes and the dryer takes 40 minutes! Yes, 40 minutes! I use to run my dryer through 2x to get clothes dry, now it takes less time than the washing machine.
It is also the best toy for Taylee and Bryns. Sean has already shown them how to climb into the dryer, which they think is hilarious. And I have caught both of them in the laundry room mesmorized by the circular motion.
It is really stupid that I am SO excited over a new washer and dryer, but I am. That dryer has already saved me so much time. After they delivered it Tuesday morning, I was able to catch up on laundry before 3 (and believe me, I had a ton of laundry to do). Its just sad that I get more excited about getting a new washer and dryer than I do about a trip to the Super Bowl. I must be getting old :-)

I agree completely with you, for the longest time I wanted a microwave above the stove, but could justify spending the money on it until the old one broke, when it did out of the blue one night I was so happy to get one and have a huge "free" corner space on my counters. I HATE clutter on my counters.
Woo hooo! I would totally be excited too. My washer and dryer are still going strong though, thank goodness. But I think front loading would be a fun toy!! Enjoy!!
I'm so excited for you and you're new "toys". Anything new is exciting but something that makes a daily chore easy, quicker and maybe a bit more fun to do is a cherished treasure. Let me know how they work for you, I'm sure we will be in the market for new appliances in the next few years so I will be looking for a lengthy review:)
That was one of my "must haves" when we built our new house. I LOVE my washer and dryer and the BEST thing for me is I can set the timer before I leave for work and when I come home-my load of laundry is freshly washed and ready to put in the dryer. Only Downside, The HE Tide is a little more expensive :(
i havn't seen too many people get super excited about a leaky appliance, and house damage!
Congrats on your new W/D!!!! I LOVE mine. Laundry goes So much faster!
Congrats on your new additions to the family....haha!!! I still have the same problem with having to dry clothes twice. But I like having excuses not to do laundry :)
