Best Seat Ever!

Paxton is now old enough that he can use a Bumbo Chair! One of my older sisters used one with her last baby and loved it. I plopped him into it this morning and he was all smiles. It was so nice! He was able to look around on his own, with his cute little bobble-head! But 5 minutes was about the max that he liked being in the chair, then he definitely wanted out. Can you blame him though? Their poor heads are like half of their weight. Ouch! I'll just keep letting him practice a little at a time.
Here's my three cuties! For some reason it was hat day in our house today. Even Pax was wearing his Phoenix Suns hat for a while (thanks to his sisters).

Bear World

We have been trying to go to Bear World all summer but it just never happened. Different things came up with work and with family and we could never find the right time to go (which is pretty sad since it is only 20 minutes from us). But, we finally made it and it was a blast!

While Paxton slept in his car seat, we let the girls sit on our laps in the car so they could see everything. Here is Taylee with Sean.
Bryns and me

There were so many bears and they came right up to our vehicle...

...and in front of it. The girls LOVED it!

And just for the fun of it, here is a comparison of how much these two crazy girls have grown in the past year...Taylee and Brynlee at Bear World 2009...

At the children's petting zoo area. This white goat was trying to eat Brynlee's hair :-)

Taylee's favorite!

Both of the girls loved the rides. They were both smiling the entire time.

I was nervous with Brynlee on this ride. There were no seat belts and this log shot about 50 feet into the air. But she was so excited and there were other kids who were smaller getting off of it and they were fine so I decided to not be my usual crazy-protective mother-self. Bryns had so much fun!

Combine with Grandpa

My dad was so sweet and let us come out and spend time on the combine with him again this year. Taylee was so excited to go. She had a huge grin on her face and kept talking about how Grandpa helps to make her favorite food---cinnamon rolls!

Sitting in the wheel. They are HUGE!

Brynlee and me in the combine. This was her first year that she got to go. She was so happy to go see Grandpa but she wasn't sure about the noise. Once we were in the combine she just cuddled into my lap. Oh well, maybe she will enjoy it more next year.

It Finally Came!!

I ordered a new car seat cover a few weeks ago. Due to some shipping problems it has taken FOREVER to get here. I have been checking the mail daily just crossing my fingers it would be there, and today it was. I got home, ripped off the old ugly cover and put this on. I LOVE IT!!

Hogle Zoo

Our family went to Salt Lake City a couple weekends ago. Our original plan was to go down on Friday night and come back Saturday afternoon, but we were having so much fun just having time together as a family that we ended up staying an extra night (in fact, we were even driving on I-15 out of Salt Lake when we just looked at each other and just said, "Let's not go back yet," so we turned around and stayed another night).

On the way down to Salt Lake we stopped in Malad for dinner at Me 'n Lou's. It is a great home-town restaurant with the BEST scones and raspeberry honey. Yummy!

We went swimming Friday night at the hotel. I was so proud of Taylee. She insisted on swimming by herself with no help from either Sean or myself. She is growing up fast and is becoming SO independent. Bryns had a lot of fun too! She is learning how to kick her legs to propel herself around, but mostly she just wanted to jump from the side and have Sean catch her.

Saturday, we went to Hogle Zoo with my sister Heather and her family. The kids had so much fun together (after the initial drama over sharing seats in the wagon that Heather and Troy rented).

There was a 3 day old giraffe that we got to see. It was so small compared to the mother.

Here are Bryns, Taylee, and their cousin Aubree posing in front of the gorilla statue.

Paxton hanging out in the stroller. He was such a good sport despite it being so hot.

Sleep

Paxton slept 8 1/2 hours last night without waking up! I am one happy mother today :-)
