Soccer Begins

Taylee had her first soccer game today. And it was so cold!! These poor little kids were running up and down the field in gloves, hats, coats, and sweatshirts. And during breaks they were cuddling in blankets with their parents. But despite the weather, Taylee had a blast. Soccer is definitely her sport right now. She had a ton of fun last fall and I think this year should be even better. Not only does she have a couple of friends on the team (including her cousin Aubree), but she actually knows what to do and has relative control over the ball. She scored 4 goals today and even helped another team member make a goal (as Sean reminded her from the side-line to "share").
Here is Taylee (in the red shirt and pink hat) on one of her break-away runs. She is so much fun to watch play. It should be a great season and I will make sure to continue to post about our all-star!

I Am So Happy

With all the downfalls of having a c-section, there is one major advantage...SCHEDULING! In exactly 9 weeks from tomorrow I will be in the Poky hospital holding my sweet new baby boy. The babysitters are now planned for my other children and Sean is getting time off from work. I really don't mind c-sections anyway...maybe because I've never had it otherwise, but I really, REALLY love knowing the time and date well before hand of when my baby is coming. It just makes some things easier (especially with a planning-freak like me:-)

Girl's Night Out

On Saturday I went to dinner with all of my sisters and my mom. We were celebrating my oldest sister, Noelle's...da-da-da-dum 30TH birthday (sorry if you don't want anyone to know:-). We went to Texas Roadhouse with NO kids and NO husbands. And while I love my kids and my husband, it was so much fun to do a girl's night. I got to eat without cutting up someone elses food first, I didn't have to share anything, and I didn't have to ask for extra napkins!

And thanks again to Sean for not only watching our own children but also VOLUNTEERING (I didn't even ask!) to watch my nephews Keegan and Gid when their babysitter fell through. You are awesome babe!

Trip to Hawaii

On Saturday my mom set up a party for all of her grandkids where she took them on a pretend trip to Hawaii. She had her whole house set up for it and the kids LOVED it! They are already talking about where they want to go next year.

First, all the kids got tickets and were seated on an airplane. And with Grandpa as the pilot, they were served juice and pretzels as they watched a luau cartoon on the flight to Hawaii.

(1st row-Aubree and Gideon, 2nd-Keegan and Taylee, 3rd- Brynlee and Asher)

When the kids arrived in Hawaii, they were escorted to a "beach" area where they learn how to do a hula dance.

(Bryns really got into the hip shaking:-)

After the hula lesson, they attended a Luau with roasted pig (hot dogs). Grandma also had a volcano activity where they built volcanoes (out of playdough) and then they got to watch them erupt (with baking soda and vinegar).

Last, but not least, they went snorkeling in the hot tub with these sea animals that Grandma gave them.

The kids then returned home on the airplane (with more juice, snacks, and another in-flight movie). Taylee and Brynlee had so much fun on their trip with Grandma and Grandpa. In fact, when I asked Taylee if she wanted to go to Sea World (we have been talking about going to San Diego this fall) or to Hawaii on our next family vacation, she said Hawaii.

Thanks again Mom and Dad! Can't wait til next year!

Sunday Morning Conversation

Taylee: Mommy, you're tummy is getting so big (uh...thanks)
Mommy: Yep, the baby is getting bigger.
Taylee: You're tummy is so big you can't do dishes anymore.
Mommy: Really? Who is going to do dishes then?
Taylee: (thinking about it) Daddy.

So, no more dishes for me 'til June, right?
